▫️My fiancé is obsessed with the Farmhouse breakfast sandwich from einsteinbros / cariboucoffee so I made it homemade while lightening up the recipe!
▫️First, I used a whole-wheat bagel to up the fiber and protein content! Whole-wheat carbohydrates have a lesser effect on blood sugar than refined carbohydrates. I used 2 eggs, scrambled, turkey bacon (less saturated fat and calories), and used Neufchâtel cheese, which is less fat than regular cream cheese. Of course I had to season with the ETB seasoning to finish it off because it is a game-changer👌🏼
▫️It’s okay to treat yourself to the real thing, but sometimes it’s fun to see where I can reduce empty calories, while increasing nutrients at the same time. And I can have a week of these sandwiches ready to go for a cheaper price!
